I love it when research proves what I intuitively knew to be true. In this case, it’s about how the people we spend time with influence our idea of what is acceptable, whether it’s our weight, our cigarette habit, or our happiness. My mother always warned me not hang out with the wrong crowd, but I guess we needed some scientists to prove she was right. This article highlights the research done by Nicholas Christakis and James Fowler. If you’re in the business of influencing people, you should give it a read.
